This interview is for a Plaintiff who cannot get Defendant served in person with a complaint and summons in a family court case.
Normally, the Plaintiff has to make sure the Defendant is served with the papers in person within 120 days after filing. Defendant can be served anywhere - at home, at work, or any other place they can be found. Anyone 18 and older who is not related or involved in the issues can serve the papers.
If Defendant is avoiding being served or can't be found, Plaintiff can request the court's permission to serve Defendant in some other way.
This interview will ask all the questions needed to create the forms to request permission to serve Defendant in some other way. The interview will not file the forms for you. You will need to print/save them and file them at your local court.
